Under a balmy early-summer breeze, our 410th meeting welcomed five guests. TM Ti donned the mantle of Toastmaster of the Day (TMOD) for the first time, guiding the entire program and explaining each agenda item so that newcomers could follow. At the very start, we were thrilled to induct TM Sa and TM Ta as official club members!
First-timer TM Is led Good & New segment, inviting participants to share a recent positive moment; this quick exchange is our tradittion elevating the meeting’s mood.
TM L delivered an engaging Ice Breaker—the very first project in the Toastmasters Pathways program—mixing humor to introduce himself. His clarity and wit earned him the day’s Best Prepared Speaker ribbon. TM It followed with a talk on how a Zen meditation retreat reshaped his outlook on everyday stress.
Stepping up as Table Topics master, TM M challenged volunteers with imaginative prompts such as “If you had to describe yourself in one word…” and “Which anime or movie world would you choose to live in?”—an exciting exercise in thinking on one’s feet. When the votes were tallied, TM D emerged as Best Table Topics Speaker.
TM N and TM KT delivered insightful feedback on the prepared speeches. TM Su demonstrated impeccable timekeeping, TM KM tracked both filler words and standout expressions, and TM Ra monitored our Word-of-the-Day usage. Finally, General Evaluator TM Ro applauded the unsung heroes.
Our next gathering will be held in English on June 21st.
