Today, we had two guests from South Korea and a Japanese guest speaker. The guest speaker gave an informative speech about Toastmasters, what it is, the role of the organization, etc. He delivered his speech with well-prepared slides that helped a lot to understand the speech content. For English speeches, two speakers were not able to attend the meeting, but thanks to technology, the speakers recorded their speech on YouTube in advance, and we watched the video in the meeting. As usual, we had time for comments and evaluations to make sure the speakers get feedback for good points and advice for improvements. For Table Topics, both members and guests were engaging and shared unique ideas about a wide range of topics such as overseas culture and “What if…” questions. Overall, the meeting was engaging, interactive, and full of learning!

本日の例会では韓国からのゲストと日本語スピーチでもゲストをお迎えし、オンライン例会ならではの国際的な例会でした。
ゲストスピーカーのスピーチは「トーストマスターズ」の組織についてや、企業クラブについてなどをお話しいただき、「トーストマスターズ」について改めて勉強できる有益な内容でした。
英語スピーチではスピーカーの2人がスケジュールの関係で当日参加できなかった為、事前に録画していた動画をYouTubeにアップし、当日はその動画を皆にシェアする方法でスピーチを披露しました。これもオンライン例会の醍醐味ですね。通常通り皆からのコメントや論表もあり、例会後にフィードバックがまとめてスピーカーに送られました。このテクノロジーをフル活用した方法だと、忙しいメンバーもスピーチの練習が存分にできるので、今後もまたこの方法を採用する例会があるかもしれません。
テーブルトピックスでは、参加者全員がスピーチの機会があり、それぞれのトピックについてユニークなスピーチを披露しました。自分が知っている異文化についてや、「もしOOが起こたら..?」といった面白いトピックまで幅広い内容で笑いと驚きに満ちたセッションになりました。
