In an Enticing Atmosphere
We were delighted to welcome five guests to our 391st meeting, which was held at our usual venue in Omotesando. The meeting was led by our Toastmaster of the Day (TMOD), TM S, whose professionalism and great explanations stood out. She also brought her infectious enthusiasm and engaging presence to the role, making the afternoon both fun and informative. The meeting began with the “Good and New” segment, where participants shared recent positive experiences. Stories included detoxing from a supplement experience, lessons learned from a poker game, getting a new pair of glasses, and discovering a new alcoholic beverage to add to a favorite list.
The prepared speech session featured TM Ra, who highlighted the importance of the relationships she has built here in this club, leaving us all with a reminder of the value of genuine human connections. The theme felt especially relevant in today’s world, and TM Ra’s message left us all with plenty to reflect on.
Alien: Human, Explain Yourself
Our Table Topics Master, TM Ro, hosted an engaging Table Topics session with prompts like, “Explain a word related to Fall to alien,” and “Which would you choose: teleportation, a time traveling machine, or cloning?” TM Y impressed everyone by creatively explaining Fall using colored papers, earning the Best Table Topics Speaker award.
In the General Evaluation session, TM K provided valuable feedback on TM Ra’s prepared speech. TM Y gave a thorough report on the timing for each segment. TM O tracked our use of filler words, helping us all become more aware of our speaking habits, and also listed notable expressions as the grammarian. TM S celebrated those who incorporated the word of the day, “enticing,” into their speeches. The meeting ended on a high note with kind words from our guests, who praised the supportive atmosphere. We sincerely hope our guests enjoyed the meeting and felt encouraged to join us again in the future.
After the meeting, several members continued the conversation at a nearby Thai restaurant, where a passionate speech on cosmetic surgery for man was delivered.
Next time, we will have a joint Halloween meeting in English with Minami Aoyama Business Toastmasters club!
