In Impeccable Atmosphere

We were delighted to welcome five guests to our 393rd meeting in Shimbashi. TM Ra took on the role of Toastmaster of the Day (TMOD), guiding us smoothly through the meeting and creating a warm, enjoyable atmosphere. During the Good and New session, members shared recent positive experiences, including seeing a normally grumpy colleague smile for the first time, the excitement of carrying a mikoshi, and an adventure in searching for the perfect popcorn.

A prepared speech was delivered by TM I, who shared his research result of the destiny of plastics waste which is separated with great effort in Japan. Have you ever wondered how plastic waste is actually processed and what steps we should take in the future?

Celebrating Cultural Diversity

Our Table Topics session, led by TM M, was a highlight that showcased the club’s rich cultural diversity. TM M’s prompts, such as “What is the greatest aspect of your culture?” and “Have you ever experienced culture shock?” sparked heartfelt and passionate responses. TM S delivered a standout answer by challenging the traditional Japanese practice of speaking modestly about one’s spouse to show humility and was awarded Best Table Topics Speaker for her impactful response.

The General Evaluation session ran seamlessly under the guidance of TM S, who ensured that feedback was constructive, warm, and encouraging. TM Ro made an impressive debut as an evaluator, presenting an organized and insightful evaluation with clarity and thoughtful observations. TM F gave precise timer’s report, whereas TM K tracked the usage of the word of the day “impeccable,” who also served as gramarian and vote masters. Thank you for your contribution!

After the meeting, members continued our cherished tradition of gathering at our favorite izakaya in Shimbashi. This time, the laughter reached new heights as we shared a round of Russian roulette takoyaki.

Our next meeting will be held at Akasaka Civic Center and will be conducted in Japanese. See you all there!
