We had another fantastic meeting with six guests joining us! Thanks to our warm and welcoming TMOD, TM Ro, the session was lively and engaging from start to finish. TM Ro did a great job keeping things on track and smoothly adapting to unexpected moments along the way.

We kicked off the meeting with our traditional “Good and New” session, led by TM Ro and TM Sh. We heard some great stories, like discovering that listening to podcasts can be a wonderful new habit, and realizing the perks of getting older—especially in Tokyo, where top-notch medical support is easily accessible.
Next, we had the pleasure of hearing an inspiring prepared speech by TM Y, who reminded us to stay confident when learning new languages. His message really resonated, especially as he shared personal stories that brought his words to life.

After that, TM Sp took us on a fun journey through his deep dive into the world’s most disliked pizzas. His humorous and passionate delivery had everyone engaged and entertained from start to finish!
After those two fantastic prepared speeches, we jumped into the Table Topics session, hosted by TM KT. He got us thinking with four thought-provoking impromptu questions, including this one: “If you couldn’t love cherry blossoms, what would be your favorite instead?” What would your favorite be?

In the General Evaluation session, TM Y offered thoughtful and impactful feedback on TM Y’s speech, while TM I gave a review of TM Sp’s presentation. TM M kept us in check with a clear and detailed timing report, and TM N gave his take on how non-native speakers use filler words. As our grammarian, TM T pointed out some standout phrases, and TM KM gave a shoutout to those who skillfully used the word of the day, “brimming,” in their speeches.
Our next meeting will be held in Japanese on March 29th — we’d love to see you there!
