Today’s regular meeting marked the end of this year’s club officer term. The meeting was a hybrid style meeting in English. Three club members gathered at Aoyama Life Learning Hall; the TMOD, TM A and our guest logged in remotely via ZOOM. Today we were honoured to have a guest from Indonesia, TM H who has been involved with Toastmasters for 11 years. The word of the day was “rain” which was a suitable choice given the start of rainy season and the heavy rain that fell on Tokyo today. Today’s grammarian was TM S who also delivered his prepared speech about volunteering and taking a leadership role at a local society. His speech focused on the skills that he acquired during his Toastmasters journey and how these skills helped him organise and moderate an event of 100+ people. The evaluator was TM M who highlighted the importance of vocal variety and how this could help deliver a more powerful message. Other participants also gave some important tips about the use of effective body language. Our table topics master was guest TM H who asked some interesting topics relating to movies; main discussion topics were favourite movies, scary movies, favourite actors etc. TM O shared his evaluation at the end highlighting how TM M’s attendance at a recent evaluation workshop helped her in delivering an even more powerful evaluation. Overall, as a club we were very happy to see another hybrid end successfully.
