On 17th Dec we had our last meeting of 2022. As the holiday seasons are around the corner, club members gathered for a very festive meeting.
We were honored to have two guests, K-san and H-san. The Toastmaster of the Day was TM K who conducted the meeting in style. Our President TM M was the prepared speaker and she delivered a wonderful speech about leadership and about two different types of bosses she encountered in her career. It was a speech that incorporated great body language and vocal variety but more importantly, it allowed us to understand who leadership can be a driver of inspiration and motivation for us.
TM M also introduced the word of the day, ‘incandescent’ which was widely used throughout the meeting. TM S then hosted a very Xmassy Table Topics session. TM O was the best table topics speaker as he introduced his kanji of the year “変” and highlighted the importance of change. TM S was the evaluator and commented on some suggestions regarding the additional level of detail that could have been added to TM M’s speech.
After the meeting, the group enjoyed a lovely Xmas dinner and enjoyed the bright lights of Omotesando on a very cold evening!
Our next meeting will take place on Saturday 7th January a Aoyama Life Learning Hall. A few members and guests have expressed that they would like to join online so we will be scheduling a hybrid meeting.
