#NewMembers, #ClubOfficersElections, #IceBreaker, #Guests
After a couple of days of heavy rain, the skies cleared up and Omotesando Bilingual TMC members and distinguished guests were able to meet up at Aoyama Life Learning Hall for another exciting meeting.
We were honoured to welcome 2 online guests and 3 guests from the venue and with most club members able to join we had a total of 16 people joining the meeting which is a club high for the last few years!
The meeting featured an induction ceremony for our two newest members TM E and TM. As a club we are excited to welcome them and to support them and grow together throughout their Toastmasters journey.
Experienced Toastmaster, TM M hosted a fabulous meeting; despite being faced with the challenge of having so many attendees, his hosting and time management skills were impeccable and we were all able to have a wonderful time.
New member TM E delivered his IceBreaker speech, a speech in which he introduced himself and shared with club members his motivation for joining Toastmasters. He shared some beautiful quotes which outline the importance of our thoughts and how they can change our destiny, very powerful speech which was voted as the best prepared speech, congratulations!
TM S conducted the club officer elections and came up Graeco-Roman Gods representing each role to add some element of humour in this ceremony (please check out the video!).
TM I was the Table Topics Master and shared some interesting questions that our members and guests answered:
(1) If you could a typhoon where would you cause it?
(2) What is another example of something that is simple and special and is more worth than what it looks
(3) What is your opinion on workplace bonding, drinking, together, etc.
(4) Weather is not perfect, what is your healthy habit that you do every day?
(5) Do you have any recommendations in NYC, San Francisco or Las Vegas?
(6) What is your advice to combat fear of missing out?
Our next meeting will be on 17th June and we will have a special TedTalk Speaker join us so stay tuned. See you all in a few weeks.
